Start by finding a TV-compatible player on your Android TV or Google TV device. Installing the app and subscribing to a streaming service are separate steps.
Before setup
Search for the player in the Apps section and install it if supported. If an app is unavailable in the store, installing its phone version is not automatically a suitable solution.
First login and trial
Check the login fields using the remote control. Enter the server address, username and password in their respective fields. The login method may vary by app.
Account security
An access URL may contain a username and password. Do not save the full address on a shared computer or post it publicly. Hide these details in screenshots.
How to assess the result
Try several programmes on the same connection. If the app opens but the list does not load, check account and login details. If only one stream fails, investigate that content first. Resetting the device should not be the first step.
